Street works training in Hampshire — your questions
The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 requires anyone working in the public highway to be qualified for the operations they carry out. Operatives need the relevant units for their tasks, and a qualified supervisor must be available to the site. Without valid cards your works can be stopped and your organisation can be prosecuted.
It depends on the work. A gang excavating and reinstating in a footway needs a different unit set from one working in a carriageway. Tell us what your team does day to day and we will specify the shortest compliant set rather than selling you units you will never use.
Five years. After that you need reassessment, which is shorter and cheaper than sitting the units again — but it has to be done before the card expires. Send us your expiry dates and we will flag them in advance.
Yes, and for streetworks it is usually the better option. We deliver at your depot or compound so the gang is not travelling, and we can run early starts or weekends where a live job cannot absorb the downtime.
We will run for a single candidate, though group bookings work out considerably cheaper per head. Most depots put six to twelve people through at a time, which is comfortable for one visit.
Usually, yes. Most streetworks gangs also need excavator, dumper or roller tickets plus C.A.T & Genny. Combining them into one visit saves a second day off the job, so tell us everything you need when you enquire.
Yes. EUSR registration is often specified alongside NRSWA on utility contracts, and we are an approved centre for both, so your team carries one consistent set of credentials.
